Here is a list of the books I have found enlightening and useful when it comes to photography

Photography and the Art of Seeing by Freeman Patterson — a wonderful book with techniques and excerises to learn to look at the familiar in a new light, to abstract visual elements into artistic concepts, and to express a vision. |

Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson — “P” mode on a digital camera is no substitute for learning the fundamentals of how to capture the details of an image as the photographer visualized it. This book does a very thorough job of covering the basis. |

Skin: The Complete Guide to Digitally Lighting, Photographing, and Retouching Faces and Bodies by Lee Varis – A must have for studio photographers and anyone else who is interested in improving their photos digitally. The book is aimed at photographers who know the basics of photography, including and the use of photoshop including layers and masks. Most of the techniques are attempts at improvements on simpler photoshop techniques. Highly useful, and well illustrated. |
